Dr. Heather Hettrick

PT, PhD, CWS, AWCC, CLT-LANA, CLWT, CORE

Dr. Heather Hettrick is a Professor in the Physical Therapy Program at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. Dr. Hettrick has been a licensed physical therapist since 1995. She received her PhD in physical therapy in 2003 and has dedicated her entire professional career to integumentary function and dysfunction, becoming a key opinion leader on integumentary function, repair and regeneration, as well as wound, lymphedema and burn management. Dr. Hettrick’s diverse clinical background is complemented by experience in research, professional writing and publication, speaking on the national and international circuit, volunteering on professional board organizations, consulting, lobbying for legislative change on Capitol Hill, organizing humanitarian work in Haiti, and creating entrepreneurial endeavors focusing on experiential learning.

Dr. Hettrick is a Certified Wound Specialist (CWS), Advanced Wound Care Certified (AWCC), Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT), and internationally dual certified in Lymphedema and Wound Care (CLWT). She is LANA credentialed by the Lymphology Association of North America. Dr. Hettrick is also a Comprehensive Oncology Rehabilitation Expert (CORE) and Experiential Learning Fellow. She has attended over 90 continuing education courses, authored over 30 journal articles, published 6 book chapters, and presented over 200 professional programs and conference presentations on various integumentary related topics.

Dr. Hettrick is a Past President of the American Board of Wound Management and is a past Board and Executive Committee member of the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care. She is currently on the board of the World Alliance of Wound and Lymphedema Care, advisory board for the Why Wound Care Campaign and Editorial Board for Today’s Wound Clinic. Additionally, she is on the planning committee for the American Vein and Lymphatic Society as well as Symposium on Advanced Wound Care, and Faculty/Director of Wound Education for the International Lymphedema and Wound Training Institute.

Anna Gable

LPN, WCC, AWCC

Anna Gable Mackie has 28 years of healthcare experience with a primary focus on wound care. Throughout the last 16 years she has worked in various healthcare settings for medical device companies as a Wound Care Consultant/Clinical Specialist/ Director of Clinical Operations.

She acquired extensive experience in Negative Pressure Wound Therapy program development while working with multiple NPWT manufacturers and distributors throughout the US. She has presented to and trained physicians, WOCNs and other healthcare professionals on the proper use and management of NPWT throughout the full continuum of care. Anna served as a lead clinician for NPWT product evaluation sites at a multitude of healthcare systems across the US resulting in securing new national business. She was also responsible for the development and execution of sales and marketing strategies which increased the utilization of antimicrobial gauze based NPWT in the wound care market.

Anna is a dynamic and seasoned educator on Negative Pressure Wound Therapy and Enteric Fistula Management. She has presented at a national, regional, state, and local levels.

Dr. Michele Carr

RDN, DPM, NWCC, FAPWCA, COS-C

Since 2004, Dr. Michele Carr has worked in the home health and hospice setting-with a focus in the areas of wound care, nutrition, and OASIS. Her passion and joy has been to educate thousands of clinicians across the nation and enable them with the tools they need to better serve their patients. Over the past several years, her expertise has been recognized in this area and she has been invited to speak at many state and national conferences including SAWC-PAC and WOW. Her unique experience as a practicing clinician, educator of clinical staff, and now consultant to industry gives her a relevant and unique perspective to the ever-changing home health and hospice market.

Dr. Cynthia Sylvia D

NURS, MSc, MA, RN, CWCN

Dr. Cynthia Sylvia is a thought leader in professional relations and knowledge management of wound healing, pressure injury/ulcer prevention, patient and caregiver safety, support surface allocation, evidence-based practice, and the medical device industry. With a clinical nursing specialty as a Certified Wound Care Nurse; she is a qualitative researcher, published author and international speaker. As a facilitator of two Consensus Development Initiatives on the Prevention of Pressure Injuries, she has generated multiple global publications and presentations.

Her passion lies in being the Voice of Nursing in the transfer of knowledge to the bedside, writing and editing of manuscripts, oversight of human subject clinical studies, expert opinion on quality improvement, risk management and standardization of support surfaces.

Cynthia has a broad range of clinical experience with roles in acute and home care and clinical science management in the medical device industry that includes years of service on the Corporate Advisory Council of the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel, in addition to being a founding member of the Support Surface Standards Initiative.

Her educational background includes a Master of Arts in Health Promotion Counseling and a Master of Science in Wound Healing and Tissue Repair at Cardiff University in Wales where she was awarded her Doctorate in Nursing.

Hali McCravy

BSN, RN, AWCC, WCC, CLWP, DWC, OMS

Hali McCravy is one of Healiant’s top instructors. Hali is an advanced wound certified clinician with over 30 years of experience in bed side wound care. She found her passion for wounds when she became a nurse in an ICU burn unit at Los Angeles County and USC Medical Center. During her career she has also been a charge nurse at wound care clinics, led home health wound teams, consulted with attorneys and physicians, authored papers and a book, and instructed wound care prep courses around the country.

Frank Aviles Jr

PT, CWS, FACCWS, CLT, ALM, AWCC

Frank Aviles is a passionate wound care clinician with 30 years of experience. He serves as the Wound Care Service Line Director for Natchitoches Regional Medical Center promoting clinical outcomes throughout the continuum of care.


He has been an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) member since 1990, is the APTA practice chair for the Academy of Clinical Electrophysiology and Wound Management Special Interest Group, serves on the advisory board for the Why Wound Care Campaign, Editorial Board member and “Let’s Be Frank” columnist for Today’s Wound Clinic, is a faculty advisor & instructor for the Academy of Lymphatic Studies, is on the educational steering committee for the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care (AAWC), and is involved in a number of wound care organizations. Frank developed and continues to host the Wound Healing Roundtables and Virtual Wound Rounds (VWR) to promote education to healthcare providers.


He has been published, recognized nationally for reducing facility pressure injuries, and lectures nationally & internationally.

Dolly Greene

RN, BSN, CIC

Dolly Greene is an RN with her BSN and board certified in infection control and prevention with 27 years of experience in the field. She is the Co-owner and lead instructor of Infection Prevention & Control Resources which provides intense training classes for caregivers around the country. Dolly is the former Chair, current Author and faculty member for APIC (Association for Professionals in Infection Prevention & Control). She is the Recipient of the (SHEA) Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America Advanced Practice IP Award and many other awards and inductions.

Cathy Thomas Hess

VP, Chief Clinical Officer for Wound Care

Cathy Thomas Hess oversees Net Health 360 Professional Services for Wound Care. Cathy gained expertise in various acute care, long-term care, sub-acute care facilities, home-health agencies, and outpatient wound care department settings. With over 30 years of experience in Wound Care, she’s been engaged to share her command of knowledge in the industry with manufacturers (including biotechnology firms), product suppliers, insurers, law firms, and governmental agencies. She is the author of the Product Guide to Skin and Wound Care – Eighth Edition (previously titled Clinical Guide to Skin and Wound Care). Cathy serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for Advances in Skin and Wound Care as well as the board of Today’s Wound Clinic. She is an expert witness for the Office of the Inspector General, past Board Member and Marketing Chair for the Wound, Continence, and Ostomy Certification Board, has appeared in several educational videos, authored over 200+ journal articles, and is a sought after national and international speaker. In 2002 she was cited as one of the Best 50 Women in Business by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.

Dr. Michael G. Warshaw

DPM, CPC, CPODCS, COCS, CSFAC, FACFAOM

Michael Warshaw is a practicing podiatrist and a certified coder with over 25 years of successful coding, management, and training experience for podiatric practices, and a Fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Orthopedics & Medicine.

 

His national and local views come from active participation as a practicing podiatrist, having the distinction of being a certified podiatric coding specialist, and years of serving as a national lecturer concerning coding issues. Dr.Warshaw’s experience is unique and comprehensive. He has the advantage of being an “Expert Witness” in all facets of the Medicare Appeals Process. This unique perspective provides the opportunity of learning solutions to insurance and coding problems from “real world” experience. Dr. Warshaw is committed to assist podiatric practices in learning to code appropriately, obtain the proper reimbursement, and to avoid the wrath of the carriers by coding and subsequently billing in an appropriate fashion.

Jeffrey Lehrman

DPM

Jeffrey Lehrman, DPM is a Podiatry Specialist in Fort Collins, CO and has over 20 years of experience in the medical field. He graduated from Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine medical school in 2001. He is affiliated with medical facilities such as Bryn Mawr Hospital and Crozer – Chester Medical Center.

Holly Korzendorfer

PT, Ph.D., CWS, FACCWS

Holly Korzendorfer received her MPT in physical therapy from Chapman University in 1995 and her PhD in physical therapy from Nova Southeastern University in 2006. She has been a Certified Wound Specialist since 1998 and is currently the Chief Innovation Officer at DermaRite Industries, where she is responsible for the development of knowledge resources, content marketing, change management, and product development. Dr. Korzendorfer worked as a physical therapist in a variety of care settings across the United States, that led to managerial, research, and faculty work. Dr. Korzendorfer’s experience includes wound management; being a presenter, adjunct faculty, and faculty educator; developing, writing, and editing content across learning platforms and for varied target audiences; and being knowledgeable about wound care reimbursement guidelines, HCPCS submissions, and regulatory promotional review. Dr. Korzendorfer has several publications and has been a content expert/writer/reviewer for various projects.

Cindy Bailey

BSN, RN, WCC – Bio RN

During Cindy’s 20+ year career in nursing she has worked in a wound clinic, sold NPWT, advance wound dressings, positioning devices, lymphedema pumps and support surfaces in hospitals, burn OR’s and wound care clinics, home care, LTAC’s and nursing facilities. Cindy has been the clinical wound care specialist for two manufacturing companies. One that manufactures support surfaces and the other a textile company that manufactures advance wound care textiles. Throughout Cindy’s career high quality education of the clinicians utilizing her products has been paramount. Cindy has a passion for spreading her wound care knowledge to other clinicians to improve their patient’s lives.

Mace Horoff has been involved in the world of healthcare sales for over 38 years as a front line sales person, sales manager, workshop facilitator, keynote speaker and author. Over the last 15 years he has delivered presentations and workshops for healthcare companies of all sizes from those in the Fortune 500 to smaller distributors that sell products and services to include capital equipment, pharmaceuticals, biologics, surgical implants, spine, trauma, cardiovascular, dental, healthcare services and more. He is the author of “Mastering Medical Sales” and the creator of Medical Sales Academy, an online training and support platform for healthcare sales professionals. He also hosts The Medical Sales Channel on YouTube and The Medical Sales Guru Podcast that is available on iTunes.
